Project Roadmap

The Delphinidae.org project is an ambitious attempt to build a resource for the whole of the dolphin community. So much is already known about these fantastic animals, and so much is left to learn. This will be a place to collect all of this information and make it more easily available for the world to see.

In the current phase, we are working to build a framework to hold the wide range of information that covers the dolphin community.

  • Complete list of species ✔
  • Overview of biology, research and community
  • Occasional news articles

In the second phase of the project, important information will be filled in to make the site a truly valuable resource. We also hope to make connections with the community during this phase.

  • Overview of known research and the goals being undertaken  research
  • Regular news cycle

Phase Three

Friends

In the last construction phase of the project, Delphinidae will be taken to the next level, curating as much information as possible, and involving the community in several ways.

  • Detailed information about each species
  • In-depth information about biology and research
  • Interactive resources
  • Community participation

Connecting the Community

Across the spectrum of dolphin conservation, research and husbandry, great people are doing incredible work. Although there are big differences in philosophy, few would disagree with the following goals:

• To learn as much as we can about dolphins.

• To do our best to care for and conserve the environments of dolphins.

• To inspire the coming generation to care for dolphins, and our oceans.
